Implementation Study of Territorial Information Systems in Government Departments:

Study that offers an analysis of the different SIT that are being created in State and Autonomous Governments.

Carried out during 2004 and 2005 by the Regional Ministry of Industry and Environment, Directorate General of Spatial Planning and Coasts, under the technical leadership of the Territorial Information Unit and the technical assistence of Aurensis S.A.

It contains a preliminary study with an outline of the territorial information systems that can be found in State and Autonomous Administrations, plus a description and analysis for each of the 25 selected SIT that were visited on site . A comparative analysis was also made for these SIT. Data collection was done in 2004, however the study was brought to a close in 2005, consequently the main developments in 2005 of the studied cases are also included.

This project was made possible thanks to the collaboration of the 25 public bodies that participated in the study and various companies working in the GIS sector, which are mentioned in the acknowledgements section.
