spatial planning and urban planning :The advent of geografical information systems in spatial and urban planning has brought about a great leap forward in spatial planning and territorial management and therefore also in the socioeconomic processes developed accordingly. The availability of data from different fields, permanent updating and the large capacity for joint analysis of these systems provide real-time knowledge of the territory and all the agents acting in it. This facilitates both its management and the decision processes of sectorial policy making. The information that urban planning provides is essential for sectorial policy guidance and it in turn provides citizens with precise information on the conditioning factors and scope of action in their activity space. This is why the SIT contains information on urban planning instruments which have been submitted by the D. G. of Urbanism and Housing. The D.G. of Spatial Planning and Coasts has processed the information and introduced it into the SIT. We can display data relevant to general planning, including the modifications up to the last indicated update and data on general applications of development planning. Each sector of land has an informative file on its urban status and the sectors that are related to it. Information has been georeferenced based on the oficial catographical scale 1:5.000 of the Region. Data can be currently found on general planning in the following municipalities:
